Formerly known as Dubai World Central (DWC), Dubai South is a planned, self-contained district chosen as the site for Expo 2020. Al Maktoum International Airport, an airport that will eventually become the world’s largest airport, is the main component of Dubai South. The airport will have the capacity to handle 16 million tonnes of cargo annually and over 200 million passengers.

 

Dubai South’s strategic location is its primary selling point for entrepreneurs. It has a direct artery to Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport, making it the ideal hub for international travel, trade, and logistics.

 

Dubai South is split into eight districts, Aviation District, Commercial District, Golf District, Humanitarian District, Logistics District, Business Park (this is the main free zone site), Exhibition District, and the Residential District. Once Dubai South is completed, it will be able to host a million residents and workers.
